Lindsay Nickels, 36, of Bellefontaine, is facing a felony charge after she reportedly fled from police when they attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the city Friday afternoon, May 23.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report Nickels was observed driving a Kia Sportage near the intersection of Orchard Avenue and north Detroit Street Friday at about 5:45 p.m.
Officers were aware that Nickels was under a non-compliance suspension, and attempted a traffic stop, at which time Nickels reportedly cut through several alleys and was observed traveling well above the speed limit on north Madriver Street.
Police activated sirens and lights in an attempt to stop Nickels, but she made it back to her residence at 314 N. Park St., where officers observed the Kia parked behind the address and found Nickels entering the rear of the house.
Officers confronted her and after receiving a report from a witness that the Kia had blown through stop signs in an alley near between west Williams Street and Powell Avenue, officers contacted the Prosecutor’s Office before placing her under arrest for failure to comply, a felony in the third degree, and transporting her to the Logan County Jail.
