UPDATE: 3 transported after crash

Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investing a two-vehicle crash that occurred shortly before 6 p.m. Monday, May 26 on U.S. Route 33 at County Road 37.

Hannah Anderson, 18, of West Liberty, was driving a northeast-bound 2006 Honda Ridgeline on C.R. 37, and reportedly failed to yield at the intersection. The Honda then traveled onto U.S. 33 and was struck by a westbound Ford Escape.

After impact, the Ford came to rest on the westbound lanes of U.S. 33 at C.R. 37, while the Honda traveled off the road and ended up in a ditch near the intersection.

Anderson sustained minor injuries and was taken by squad to Mary Rutan Hospital.

The Ford’s driver, Laci Smith, 19, of Marion, and a passenger in her vehicle, Dakwon Winters, 20, no address provided, each sustained minor injuries and were transported by squad to Lima Memorial Hospital and MRH, respectively.

Damage to the vehicles was disabling and they were towed from the scene.

Troopers were assisted by Bellefontaine Fire Department, Huntsville Fire and EMS and Indian Lake EMS.

Traffic in the westbound lanes was reduced to one lane until about 7:50 p.m. when the road was fully reopened.
