Celebrated in October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) serves as a reminder of the ongoing effort to ensure that individuals with disabilities are afforded access to rewarding job opportunities all year round.
This week, the Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities would like to spotlight Joe, an enthusiastic and dedicated local employee.
When Vicario’s Pizza reopened at 1141 S. Main St., Bellefontaine, Joe was thrilled to join the staff. His supervisors were equally excited to welcome him, having already heard about his strong work ethic and now, they get to see it firsthand.
Joe enjoys every part of being at Vicario’s—the menu, the people, and even the car shows hosted at the restaurant. He’s always happy to chat with customers and share his recommendations for favorite dishes.
On the job, Joe plays an important role in keeping the salad bar and pizza bar stocked and fresh, while also making sure the dining area is clean and welcoming.
Working at Vicario’s has given Joe the opportunity to connect with his community, and he takes great pride in being part of the team.
National Disability Employment Awareness Month is a time to celebrate the many contributions of workers with disabilities and to highlight inclusive employment practices. Joe’s story is a wonderful example of how meaningful employment benefits both individuals and the businesses they support.
