Motorcyclist flown after crash

Martin A. Johnson II, 18, of Bellefontaine was flown by MedFlight helicopter to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries after he reportedly wrecked a motorcycle in the parking lot of Speedway, 329 S. Main St. Saturday, Oct. 4, at 6:41 p.m. 

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report Johnson turned the motorcycle into the Speedway parking lot before revving the engine and losing control of the vehicle and striking a retaining wall. 

Bellefontaine EMS treated Johnson at the scene prior to transferring him to OSU Hospital. 

Damage to the motorcycle was disabling and it had to be towed from the scene. The owner of the motorcycle did not press charges and no citations for the accident have as yet been issued.

Pair arrested after domestic incident 

Hope Zirkle, 24, and Bryce Zirkle, 24, both of Bellefontaine, were arrested Thursday, Oct. 2, at about 12:45 p.m. following the report of a domestic incident at the Heritage Court Apartments.

According to the police report, both Hope and Bryce accused each other of acts of violence against one another and after questioning both parties and a witness, arrested Bryce on the charge strangulation and lodged him in the Logan County Jail, while Hope was issued a summons for domestic violence.

• James Hughes, 54, of Bellefontaine was arrested on a charge of menacing Friday, Oct. 3, at 1:34 p.m. after officers were twice called to a residence on the west side of the city on the report of Hughes threatening other tenants of the house in which he lives. 

When questioned, Hughes appeared to be extremely intoxicated and denied threatening other tenants, but after receiving a written report from one of the complainants, officers arrested Hughes and lodged him in the jail.

• Seth M. Noe, 27, of Bellefontaine was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct/public intoxication after police were called to Speedway, 329 S. Main St., on the report of a fight, about 2:10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5.  

Noe had left the scene prior to police arriving, but was located in the downtown area short time later in what was reported to be a very intoxicated state. 

Police then arrested Noe, who reportedly verbally abused both officers and jail staff and had to be placed in a restraint chair at the jail. A small amount of marijuana was found on Noe’s person at the time of his arrest, which was discarded.

• Lilith N. Dulen, 19, of Bellefontaine, was arrested and lodged in the jail Thursday, Oct. 2, at 1:03 p.m. on a probation violation.

Warrants served 

Sue A. Webster, 51, of rural Belle Center was issued a failure to appear warrant issued by the Bellefontaine Municipal Court at the Logan County Jail Friday at 5:19 p.m. 

Police also reported the arrest of Kellye C. Gallant, 35, of Beavercreek Sunday on a warrant for a probation violation issued in Auglaize County. 

Officers also were called to the Lucas County Jail in Toledo to pick up Sheriel S. Mitchell, 23, of Toledo, Sunday at 10:07 p.m. on a felony theft warrant issued in Logan County.
