Missing woman quickly located

The Bellefontaine City Police helped locate an elderly woman who was reported missing from her home in the early hours of Wednesday, Aug 13.

Officers received the call from the missing woman’s family about 12:26 a.m. reporting that the woman had medical issues and had been last heard from Tuesday evening, further noting that her car was not at her residence. A BOLO was initiated because of her age and medical condition and the woman’s car was entered in to the LEADS as an endangered adult.

Police Chief Chris Marlow reported this morning that the woman has been located “safe and sound” and returned home.

Man facing OVI, underage consumption charges

Officers report the arrest of Logan Joseph Grubbs, 19, of Marysville, just after midnight Sunday, Aug. 12, in the parking lot of Walmart, 2281 S. Main St.

According to the police report, at about 12:11 a.m. Sunday, officers observed two males in the Walmart lot near a pickup truck. When questioned about their activities, Grubbs, who showed signs of intoxication, admitted to driving the truck into the lot. 

Officers report that Grubbs had an odor of alcohol on his breath and his speech was slurred. Officers also reported that several bean stalks were wedged in the grill of the pickup.

After failing field sobriety tests, Grubbs was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and underage consumption before being transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department, where a breathalyzer test on Grubbs revealed a BAC of 0.118. 

Police placed a call to Grubbs’ probation officer, who said that Grubbs will also be charged with a probation violation.

Two unopened cases of beer that were in the vehicle were confiscated and disposed of, while Grubbs was lodged in the Logan County Jail on the above charges. 

• Officers also reported the arrest of Chalmer Colby Woodward, 27, of 629 Henry St., on a domestic violence charge following an incident at 116 1/2 N. Main St. Saturday, Aug, 9 at about 8:30 p.m. and also reported the arrest of Damione Ray Miller, 45, of 117 Water Ave, Sunday, Aug. 10 at 10:46 p.m. on a bench warrant for aggravated possession of drugs. 

Both Woodward and Miller were taken into custody and lodged in the jail without incident.
