The first baby of 2026 has arrived at Mary Rutan Health, bringing joy and celebration to the Family Birth Center.
Sophia, the hospital’s Baby New Year, made her grand entrance on January 2. She weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and measured 19 inches long. Sophia was welcomed by her proud parents, Alexis and Matthew, as they began the New Year with a moment they will never forget.
To mark the special occasion, the Mary Rutan Family Birth Center presented the family with a New Year’s gift basket filled with baby essentials to help them start this exciting new chapter.
“We are honored to share in such a meaningful moment for this family,” said Mary Sebring, vice president of patient services at Mary Rutan Hospital. “Welcoming the first baby of the New Year is a cherished tradition for our team, and we wish this family a year filled with health, happiness, and new beginnings.”
