Logan County Fair Royalty: 4 vie for queen title Sunday

The Logan County Fair Royalty contest features one king candidate this year, while four young ladies are competing to be crowned the 2025 Logan County Fair queen in the annual event, which begins at a new time and location.
The Logan County Fair’s opening ceremony and royalty contest begin at noon Sunday, July 6, at the fairgrounds’ grandstand.
Before the event, all previous Logan County Fair Royalty are invited to join the 2024 royalty for a cookie reception in the pavilion beginning at 10:30 a.m to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Logan County Fair.
“We are excited about the continued growth of our Logan County Fair Royalty Contest. Our royalty program not only celebrates the talent, dedication and service of our 4-H and FFA members, but also develops the personal growth of the young leaders in our county,” stated Mandi Wood, Logan County Fair Royalty coordinator.
ACKLEY
This year, the lone king candidate is Micah Ackley of East Liberty, who is a member of the Liberty Livestock 4-H Club and Benjamin Logan FFA.
A son of Dan and Tracey Ackley of East Liberty, Micah is a recent graduate of Benjamin Logan High School and shows dairy beef feeders and dairy steers at the Logan County Fair.
“I believe I can represent the fair because I show the love and passion in the show arena, and within the barn since I am passionate about everything I do,” Micah said.

Queen applicants this year are Kayley Knox of Belle Center, Summer Literal of West Mansfield, Emma Strayer of DeGraff and Cambria Tuttle of Huntsville.
A daughter of John and Alicia Knox of Belle Center, Kayley will be a senior at Benjamin Logan High School and is a member of Roots & Boots 4-H Club and Benjamin Logan FFA.
She shows rabbits and goats at the Logan County Fair.
“I believe I am the best candidate for queen because I love taking responsibility, working towards goals, and helping people,” Kayley said.
A daughter of Stormy Stanley and Kyle Litteral of West Mansfield, Summer is a member of Mix & Match 4-H Club and Benjamin Logan FFA.
In the fall, she will be a senior at Benjamin Logan High School and she shows rabbits and
market lambs at the fair.
“I believe I am the best candidate for queen because I am very good at talking to
people and I love the fair and want to be involved in it as much as possible,” Summer stated.
A member of Riverside Hustlers 4-H Club and Riverside OHP FFA, Emma is a daughter of Ashley Parthemore and Josh Strayer of DeGraff. She will be a senior at Riverside High School.
Emma exhibits her market goats, poultry and beekeeping skills at the Logan County Fair.
“I believe I am the best candidate for queen due to my deep rooted
commitment to our fair and community,” she said.
Cambria, a member of Indian Lake OHP FFA, is a daughter of Greg and Michele Tuttle of Huntsville.
She is a recent graduate of Indian Lake High School and shows pigs and dairy beef feeders at the fair.
“I have always loved being at the fair and showing animals has always been very important to me,” Cambria said. “I believe I have the leadership abilities to make the fair better and more fun for everyone.”

Five princess candidates also are in the running for the 2025 royalty title. They are: Courtney Altstaetter of Bellefontaine, Audra Harford of Belle Center, Alivia James of West Mansfield, Avery McCarty of West Liberty and Ella Stoodt of Belle Center.
Courtney, a member of the Cool Clovers 4-H Club and Indian Lake OHP FFA, is a daughter of Phil and Brandi Altstaetter.
An incoming junior at Indian Lake High School, she shows market goats, breeding goats, pygmy goats, and dairy beef feeders at the fair.
“I believe I am the best candidate for princess because I love meeting new people. I can easily talk to industry professionals and help inform people in the community about what we do and stand for,” Courtney said.
A member of Mac-O-Chee Mustangs 4-H Club, Audra is the daughter of Scott Harford and Lauren Harford and will be a freshman at Indian Lake High School.
She participates in showing market lambs, breeding lambs, horses and sewing projects at the Logan County Fair.
“I believe I am the best candidate for princess because I am a kind person who will care for the needs of others. I am dedicated to helping others when they need it and I am ready to leave my comfort zone,” Audra said.
Alivia, who will be a freshman at Benjamin Logan High, is a member of Premier Livestock 4-H Club and a daughter of Justin and Lora James of West Mansfield.
Her fair participation includes showing market goats, breeding goats, market turkeys, and self-determined canning.
“I would be the best candidate for princess because I am a well-rounded individual. I would like to promote the Logan County Fair by sharing all my positive experiences,” Alivia said.
A member of Showin and Growin 4-H Club, Avery is a daughter of Daniel and Emily McCarty and will be a freshman at Calvary Christian High School.
She shows market pigs and quilting projects at the fair.
“I believe I am the best candidate for princess because I am very responsible and able to keep up with many tasks. I am self motivated and enjoy new things,” Avery stated.
Ella, a member of Premier Livestock 4-H Club, is a daughter of Kevin and Amy Stoodt of Belle Center and will be a sophomore at Benjamin Logan High School.
She shows market pigs at the Logan County Fair.
“I am a very driven person who would like to try new things and make our fair better for years to come,” Ella said.
