Officers of the Washington Township Police Department apprehended a Bellefontaine man Tuesday night, June 17, who was being sought by Hardin County authorities.
Officers received a be on the lookout from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office about 8 p.m. for a vehicle driven by Austin Clem, 18.
Clem is a suspect in a Hardin County criminal case.
Officers located the suspect vehicle at 400 Lincoln Blvd. in Russells Point, and with the assistance of detectives and deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, set up a perimeter around an apartment where Clem was believed to be located.
Using the WTPD drone, officers were able to safely monitor the location until Hardin County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrived.
Officers then made contact with the occupants of the apartment and Clem was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, who was criminally trespassing at the apartment complex, was lodged in Logan County Jail.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office was able to obtain evidence from the scene and continue their investigation.
