Lakers track and field sets numerous personal bests against Piqua

The Indian Lake track and field teams traveled to Piqua for a meet on Wednesday.

The Indian Lake girls outscored Piqua 78-50. The boys meet saw each team score 64 points.

For the girls, individual event winners were Addison Beck in the 100 dash (13.27) and long jump (16-4 1/2), Alicia Brielmaier in the 1600 (6:13); Myiah Ankrom in the 400 (1:09); Mara Bihn in the 300 hurdles (1:01); Haley Metzger in the 800 (3:04); Kayleigh Taylor in the 3200 (15:13), Ava Faler in the high jump (4-8) and Maddie Miller in discus (101-9).

First place relay teams were the 4×200 (Piper Warnecke, Maddie Leiss-Breakey, Cameron Finfrock, Hailey Prater) in 2:01; the 4×400 (Reagan Rash, Ankrom, Finfrock, Evie Wagner) in 4:43; and the 4×800 (Metzger, Kayleigh Taylor, Wagner and Rash) in 11:56.

Taking second place were Bihn in the 100 hurdles, Wagner in the 1600, Lili Mackesy in the 300 hurdles, Metzger in the high jump and Faler in long jump, as well as the 4×100 of Warnecke, Leiss-Breakey, Prater, and Finfrock).

Prater (100 hurdles), Warnecke (long jump) and Terra Beltz (shot put) each finished third.

On the boys side, Gavin Henry won the 110 hurdles (15:82) and Noah Shirk took the 300 hurdles (44.84). Silas Holbrook won the 200m dash (24.15), while in field events, winners were Gavin Henry in high jump (5-8), Quest Clay in long jump (18-5) and Chris Timms in shot put (51-1 1/2). 

The Lakers also crossed the line first in three of the four relays. It was Henry, Shirk, Drake Cosby and Clay in the 4×100 (45.84); Cameron Freyhof, Jacob Freyhof, Holbrook and Collin Bendler in the 4×200 (1:39), and Cosby, Everett Wischmeyer, Jacob Freyhof and Bryan Mohler in the 4×400 (3:49).

Taking second place were Wischmeyer (400), Will Faler (800) and Titus Kelly (1600), along with Holbrook (long jump) and Franklin Kinney (discus).

Those coming in third were Jordan Henderson (300 hurdles), Mohler (800), Cameron Freyhof (200), Wyatt Whitsett (long jump) and Carter Dawson (shot put).

The Lakers had 14 personal records in the meet, following up 30 PRs from the meet on Monday.

They will compete at Vandalia Butler on Friday.
