Indian Lake’s softball team tuned up for Wednesday’s regional semifinals with a 3-2 win over Marysville in a regular-season contest Monday.
The Lakers are now 24-3 on the season.
Marysville has been ranked in the Division I state poll this season and the Monarchs will compete in the Division I regional tournament later this week.
The Lakers scored twice in the top of the third inning for a 2-0 lead.
Marysville scored a run in the bottom of the third to make it a 2-1 score.
The Lakers answered with another run in the top of the fourth for a 3-1 lead.
Marysville added a run in the bottom of the fifth, but the Lakers held on the rest of the way to get the win.
Haylee Edwards was 2-3 with an RBI and Abigail Elliott was 2-3 to lead the Lakers at the plate. Mackenzie Dixon and Halle Roby each had an RBI.
Madison Brentlinger went the distance in the pitching circle to get the win. She allowed six hits and walked two.
Indian Lake will battle West Jefferson in a Division III regional semifinal game at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Centerville High School.
