Lady Chiefs tennis edges Kenton; falls to Urbana

Bellefontaine’s girls tennis team got a 3-2 win over host Kenton in nonleague action on Wednesday.

At first singles, Ava Dolan of Bellefontaine won 6-1, 6-0 over Kenton’s Van Horn.

At second singles, the Wildcats’ Wilson defeated Olivia Warye, 6-2, 6-2.

At third singles, Harley Neer of the Chiefs got the key win, defeating Kenton’s Stanforth 4-6, 6-4, 6-0.

In the first doubles match, Mia Brown and Rylee Crabtree won 6-1, 6-1 over the Wildcats’ Stevenson and Vermillion.

Kenton’s Lowe and Nease took the other doubles contest over Adison Postle and Maria Casanas, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.

Bellefontaine (0-2 CBC, 2-2 overall) will be at Jonathan Alder today at 4:30 p.m.

Urbana 3, Bellefontaine 2

Bellefontaine lost to Urbana on Tuesday at home.

At first singles, Ava Dolan of Bellefontaine won 6-2, 6-0 over Eveline Schelle from Urbana.

At second singles, Chloe Nannarone of Urbana outlasted Olivia Warye, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 in a match that went over three hours.

At third singles, Elizabeth Doss of the Hillclimbers defeated Layla Hoyt, 6-1, 6-0.

The Chieftains’ first doubles team of Mia Brown and Rylee Crabtree remained unbeaten with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Nora Mowery and Emily Hughes.

At second doubles, Samantha Roeher and Emma Ridley of Urbana defeated Adison Postle and Maira Casanas, 6-0, 6-4.
