The Bellefontaine boys soccer team got its first win of the season Tuesday, with a 2-1 victory over River Valley at home.

Ethan Turner scored on a penalty kick and Cody Hudson put one in on a free kick in the first half.

River Valley scored with six minutes left in the game.

Coach Steve Henry said, “This was a huge win for us. This team is so deserving of something positive and it feels great to see them finally get a payoff. River Valley wasn’t going away easy though. We really had to hang on tight the last 10 minutes, but the boys were able to close it out. Now we’re hoping to build off of this and gain some momentum for the rest of the season.”

Bellefontaine (0-1 CBC, 1-4) will be at Milton Union on Saturday at noon.
