BHS boys, Lakers girls win county meet titles

Indian Lake hosted the annual Logan County cross country meet on Tuesday evening.

Bellefontaine won the boys title with 20 points. Calvary Christian had 39, and Indian Lake 74. Runners from Benjamin Logan and Riverside were also on hand.

Hayden Maus crossed the finish line first and covered the two miles in 10:34, with Jake Moreland (10:40) and Oliver Grandstaff (10:41) second and third. 

The rest of the top seven was John Gaertner of Calvary Christian (10:52), Adly Knox of Calvary (11:07), Will Myers of Bellefontaine (11:15) and Kaden Simpson of Calvary (11:16).

The Chiefs’ Landon Gerwels was eighth (11:19). Other results included Brenden Murray (11:30), Andrew Myers (11:36), Nick Herrera-Diaz (12:47), Tristyn Wilson (14:43), Brayten Swisher (16:24), and Jake Christen (17:55).

Competing for Indian Lake were Cason Lacher 12th, 11:52; Will Faler 13th, 11:53; Nathan White 15th, 12:09; Aiden Stinebaugh 17th, 12:20, and Titus Kelly 21st, 12:50.

For Ben Logan, Greyson Butler had a time of 12;15, followed by Maxwell Troth (12:38), Michael Berry (13:22) and Gabe Elsasser (13:36).

Following Gaertner for the Spartans was Adly Knox (11:07), Kaden Simpson (11:16), Ayden Knox (11:21) and Benaiah Soma (12:03).

In the girls’ high school race, Indian Lake won the team trophy with 29 points. Bellefontaine was second (36) and Ben Logan had 59.

Grace Brown of Bellefontaine was first in 11:54, followed by Reagan Rash (13:11) and Laura Metzger (13:34) of the Lakers.

Rounding out the top seven were Hannah Wilson of Bellefontaine (13:56), Evie Wagner of IL (14:04), and Gwen Smith (14:20) and Lucy Wenger (14:22) of Ben Logan.

Also running for Indian Lake were Alicia Brielmaier 14:27, Haley Metzger 14:43, Kayleigh Taylor 14:59, Karlee Taylor 17:50, Olivia Albert 18:45, and Lara Hagedorn 18:48.

For the Chiefs, other results were Cece Reier (14:27), Blakely Vollrath (14:34), Cameo Greene (14:44), Sloan Stolly (14:58), Leila Hammond (15:56), and Sophia Marker (16:23).

Besides Smith and Wenger, other results were Molly Siefring (14:47), Peyton Smith (15:12), Lauren Kennedy (15:15), Elliott Butler (15:40), Bonnie Brunson (15:45), Illiana Vermillion (16:43), Maille Ricketts (18:47) and Natalie Chapman (22:54).

For Calvary Christian, Avery McCarty had a time of 15:42 and Abriley Krabill had a time of 16:28.


In the middle school girls race Ben Logan won with 46 points, Calvary Christian had 52 points, Bellefontaine had 53 points and Indian Lake had 74 points. 

Top seven individuals: Nevaeh Davis CC 13:32; Abby Bihn IL 13:36; Pippa Zvansky BL 13:39; Kylie Lowe B 14:22; Baya Deal B 14:32; Caroline Jones IL 15:04  and Shelby Siefring BL 15:22.

Bellefontaine won the boys race with 16 points and Ben Logan had 43.

Top seven individuals were Jackson Maus B 12:39; Sennett Stolly B 12:50; Hayden Kuhlke IL 12:50; Logan Kuhlke IL 12:58; Camden Vollrath B 13:21; Bennett Lang B 13:26; and Zayden Wilson BL 14:11.
