James Edward Hughes, 54, of 117 W. Brown Ave, Apt. 3, was arrested by officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department following an incident at his home at about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 3.
Officers report that they were dispatched to the address earlier after neighbors complained that Hughes was intoxicated and had been harassing other tenants.
Police located Hughes in his apartment and gave him a verbal warning, advising him to stay in his room. However, they were called back to the address about 10 minutes later after it was reported that Hughes was involved in another verbal altercation.
After taking statements from witnesses, Hughes was placed under arrest for persistent disorderly conduct and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Warrant served after store incident
Timothy Eugene Clark, 66, of 300 N. Detroit St. was arrested for outstanding warrants about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday after employees of Walmart, 2281 S. Main St. complained that he was trespassing, for which he had been given verbal warnings in the past.
Walmart employees did not seek to press trespassing charges, but while investigating the incident, BPD dispatch informed officers that Clark had two outstanding bench warrants, both for failure to appear.
Clark then was arrested and transported without further incident to the jail.
