A husband and wife pair both were lodged in the Logan County Jail on separate charges related to an incident late Friday evening, June 6.
Bradley Cohn of Urbana, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and improper handing of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
His wife, Brandy Cohn, was charged with domestic violence after the incident.
About 11:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of east Main Street in reference to fight. When officers arrived in the area, witnesses pointed out one of the suspects involved was attempting to leave in a Chevrolet pickup.
Officers stopped the subject and began speaking with him, noting the smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. The driver, Mr. Cohn, was asked to perform standard field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was placed under arrest for OVI, officers said.
During the investigation, a 9mm pistol was discovered on the driver’s side floorboard. This led to the additional firearm charge.
Once all the necessary matters with Mr. Cohn were handled, officers shifted their focus back to the altercation and started speaking with Mrs. Cohn.
She advised she was there having a few drinks and contacted her husband for a ride home. Once her husband arrived, a verbal altercation reportedly took place and later turned physical.
Witnesses said they observed Mrs. Cohn pushing and shoving her husband multiple times in the parking lot. At one point, witnesses stated Mrs. Cohn nearly knocked her husband to the ground.
Mrs. Cohn was arrested a short time later for domestic violence.
Both defendants were transported to the Logan County Jail without incident.
