Elderly man injured in crash

A elderly rural Bellefontaine man was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital with suspected minor injuries following a two-vehicle accident on Gunntown Road Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 7:16 a.m. 

Officers report that Herbert L. Yoder, 80, of rural Bellefontaine was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck westbound in the 200 block when he drove left of center near the intersection of Gunntown Road and Main Street, striking an eastbound 2020 Toyota driven by Clinton G. Oaks, 52, of Bellefontaine head on. 

Yoder sustained suspected minor injuries in the crash and was transported to hospital by the Bellefontaine EMS.

Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene.

No other injuries were reported and Yoder was cited for traveling left of center.
