A Troy man was arrested for was arrested early Saturday, June 14, for felony failure to comply, and other charges after leading law enforcement on a pursuit through the DeGraff area.
Andrew Fatone, 24, was also arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, multiple stop sign violations and speeding, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office,
Deputies on patrol about 1:10 a.m. clocked a southbound sport utility vehicle traveling 82 mph in a 55 mph zone of State Route 235 near Township Road 43.
Law enforcement began to pursue the suspect vehicle, operated by Fatone, who ignored activated lights and sirens, as the SUV turned east onto T.R. 43 and accelerated to about 90 mph. The SUV nearly lost control at a curve in the 7000 block of T.R. 43 traveling into a ditch, before regaining control and continuing on to the intersection with County Road 11, where the SUV failed to yield at the stop sign and went south on C.R. 11.
Fatone also reportedly disregarded two other traffic signals in DeGraff before coming to a stop in a rural area between township roads 229 and 75.
Deputies detected an odor of alcohol from Fatone, who reportedly admitted to drinking a “few beers.”
The suspect told deputies he initially didn’t stop because he was on probation for prior crimes, but a male passenger in his vehicle, a Ford Escape, persuaded him to do so.
Fatone was lodged in the Logan County Jail, where he refused sobriety and breathalyzer tests.
The suspect’s bond was set at $50,000 and his court date has yet to be determined.
The vehicle was impounded.
