Students at Benjamin Logan Elementary enjoyed a fun and educational introduction to the voting process through classroom mock elections Monday, Nov. 4. Randi Braddock’s class hosted a spirited “cookie election,” where students “tested” two candidates, Oreo and Chocolate Chip, before casting their votes. After tallying and graphing the results, Oreo emerged as the winner. Meanwhile, third-graders in Morgan Dixon’s class participated in a mock election by creating voter registration cards, casting ballots for their favorite candy and writing reflections on their choices. This interactive experience gave students a glimpse into the voting process and taught them about decision-making and civic responsibility in an engaging way. (BENJAMIN LOGAN PHOTOS)
