The owners and staff at the new Russells Point Cobblestone Hotel located at 211 Lincoln Boulevard announced this week that the hotel is now open to overnight guests visiting the Indian Lake area.
The three-story, 54-room hotel features various rooms, including six long-term stay rooms with a kitchen, living room and bedroom. There are also single king-size bed rooms, twin queen beds and rooms that have TV nooks separate from the sleeping area.
Other amenities include an indoor pool, meeting rooms and an onsite exercise facility. The hotel has microwaves and refrigerators in all rooms and there is a guest laundry.
Guests can enjoy a drink in the lounge, complimentary breakfast, high speed internet and there is a business center.
At the groundbreaking ceremony for the project in November 2023, Mike Major, president of the Indian Lake Hotel Investment Group, said he observed the success of a similar hotel in Urbana.
“We’re fortunate to have stumbled across Cobblestone,” he said. “We want a franchise that does good within smaller communities.
“This hotel will lift up the community. I think we’ll see good things happen.”
Elected officials at the ground breaking likened the new hotel to the largest economic development since the amusement park that was built at Indian Lake at the turn of the last century.
The project will not only bring jobs to the area, but will provide leverage for other opportunities. And Major noted it will make a huge difference in year-round tourism.
Ben Vollrath, Logan County Chamber of Commerce president, was on hand at the groundbreaking, along with State representatives Susan Manchester and Jon Cross.
“This is just the beginning,” Vollrath said. “We need everybody to jump in.”
“For this to work, we all need to rent rooms and keep this hotel full,” Cross told the crowd. “It will be a great complement to how much we love our summers over here.”
