Church begins free hot breakfast served on Saturdays

The Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Bellefontaine has launched a new free hot breakfast, serving a warm meal every Saturday morning to anyone in the community — no questions asked.

Breakfast is served daily from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 1659 County Road 18, Bellefontaine.

The menu includes pancakes, sausage, eggs, toast and beverages.

This effort, named Open Table, arises from growing financial pressures many Logan County residents are facing, including the ongoing government shutdown, reduced SNAP benefits, a slowdown in manufacturing, and rising costs of food, utilities and health care.

“Our goal is simple, we want to ensure that no one in our community has to start their day hungry — whether they’re between jobs, struggling to make ends meet, or just need a little encouragement,” church members said.

The breakfast is open to everyone, regardless of need, faith background or circumstance.

Volunteers and donations are welcome. For more information, contact the organizers via email at jthornton@vineyardcf.org.
