No injuries were reported in a four-vehicle crash that occurred about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 on U.S. Route 68 just south of Township Road 175.
Logan County Sheriff’s deputies report that three northbound vehicles were stopped on U.S. 68 for a school bus when a fourth northbound vehicle struck one of them in the rear, starting a chain-reaction crash.
Joshua Samples, 17, of Bellefontaine, was driving a northbound 1997 Pontiac vehicle on U.S. 68 when it struck the rear of 2005 Honda Element operated by Dylan King, 16, of West Liberty. King’s vehicle then struck the rear of 2011 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Caleb Larson, 16, also of West Liberty. The Larson car then struck the rear of a 2008 Honda CR-V operated by Lyndee Harrison, 16, also of West Liberty.
Damage to the vehicles was light and all of the drivers were reportedly wearing seat belts.
Samples was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
