Benjamin Logan Elementary second-graders have a new reading buddy — Dottie the therapy dog. Thanks to a connection between Anne Brienza and second-grade teacher Jackie Thompson, Dottie will be visiting second grade classrooms weekly to listen to students read, providing a calming and supportive presence as they develop their literacy skills. Dottie’s first visit was a success, with each child having the opportunity to read to her for a few minutes.
