BPD puts new cruiser in service

After months of modifications and installation of special equipment, the Bellefontaine Police Department put a new police cruiser in service earlier this month, with the new vehicle pictured with the help of Sgt. Andy Kennedy Wednesday morning, Oct. 22, at the Bellefontaine City Building. Built by the Ford Motor Company, the cruiser is a 2025 Interceptor Police Utility Vehicle, comes with with a 3.3L V6 engine, a high-voltage battery pack, a heavy-duty suspension, a ballistic door panel, as well as a computer monitor and keyboard, spotlights, state-of-the-art emergency lights, and all of the other modifications associated with police cruisers.
