Armed robbery reported at Speedway gas station

Hundreds of dollars were taken from a Speedway gas station during the overnight hours of Friday, Oct. 6, after a suspect entered the store pointing a firearm.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched around 1:30 a.m. to the gas station at 600 E. Sandusky Ave. in reference to an armed robbery.

A store employee told officers a white male wearing a gray sweatshirt, a full-face ski mask and blue rubber gloves entered the store, pointed a gun at him and demanded money from the register. The victim complied and the suspect fled the store westbound with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police are still investigating.
