Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department have completed the investigation of an accident that occurred in the downtown area at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, and resulted in damage to eight vehicles.
The report states that Robert Huffman, 57, of North Lewisburg, was driving a Ford F250 southbound on Main Street at the intersection of Columbus Avenue when he suffered a medical emergency, inadvertently accelerated and lost control of his vehicle before striking and damaging seven cars which were parked along the the west side of Main St.
All of the vehicles, including the Huffman truck, suffered moderate to severe damage and most had to be towed from the scene.
Two passengers in the Huffman vehicle were uninjured and Huffman was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by the Bellefontaine EMS for treatment of his medical condition.
No citations were issued as a result of the accident, as alcohol or drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the crash and no other injuries were reported.
- In other matters, officers report that Scott J. James, 52, at large, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant at Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 8:18 p.m.
