The third reading and final vote for accepting the annexation of 46.376 acres into the city limits will be conducted at the regular meeting of the Bellefontaine City Council Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 7:30 p.m.
Owned by LeVan Investments, LLC, the parcels to be annexed lie adjacent to the city on its southeast side, east of Michigan Street, south of Lake Avenue, and west of Ludlow Road/County Road 1.
The Planning Commission recommended the annexation and also recommended that the property, should it be annexed, be zoned R-1, One Family Residence District.
Also up for final votes at Tuesday’s meeting are two ordinances, the first allowing the service-safety director and fire chief to issue a promissory note from Fund 410 (Capital Improvement #2) to Fund 610 (Wastewater Department), with the second allowing the city to vacate a 150-foot section of an east-west alley in the Spring Valley Addition.
Prior to the regular council meeting, the council also will conduct a hearing at 7 p.m., to consider a request from representatives of the the Detrick property for it to be zoned as an R-3 Multi Family Residence District if and when the property is annexed into the city.
The Detrick property is just over 143 acres of land on the southwest corner of County Road 11 (west Lake Avenue) and Township Road 216 (south Troy Road). The hearing is being conducted on the recommendation of the Bellefontaine Planning Commission,
