A Bellefontaine man is facing a number of charges following an incident at his home Thursday, June 12, just before 10 p.m.
According to the report, officers were dispatched about at 9:59 p.m. to 614 Garfield Ave. on the report of a domestic dispute. When they arrived, the female victim reported that Steven M. Weaver Jr., 52, of that same address, had assaulted her before leaving the residence in a silver Ram 1500 pick-up truck. When taking the report, officers noted visible injuries on the victim.
While police were investigating the incident, Weaver reportedly called the victim and told her that he would be staying at local motel for the night. Police located the both the truck and Weaver at Super 8, 1117 N. Main, shortly thereafter. When questioning Weaver, police noted that he appeared to be intoxicated, this after admitting that he drove from his residence to the motel.
Weaver was then arrested on the charge of domestic violence. He refused to submit to a breathalyzer test, at which time he was also charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/of drugs and failure to reinstate before being lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Hosie Antione Williams, 29, of Columbus, was arrested for a violating of a civil protection order, as well as a warrant for another CPO violation, at a residence on Township Road 179 at about 8:19 a.m. Thursday. Williams was then lodged in the Logan County Jail without further incident.
