2 BPD officers promoted to sergeant, other personnel changes recognized

Several Bellefontaine Police Department officers began new roles following a swearing-in ceremony Tuesday afternoon, July 8, for four different individuals conducted by Mayor Dave Crissman, pictured at the right, and joined by Bellefontaine Police Department Chief Chris Marlow, left. Officer Andrew Purk, second from the left, and Officer Aaron Long, third from the left, each were promoted to the rank of sergeant and were administered the oath of office by the mayor. In addition, the department’s newest officer, Zack Sheeley, third from the right, also was sworn in for service. He is a lateral transfer from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office. Former BPD Officer Jayde Sheeley, second from the right, recently stepped down from her full-time patrol officer position to pursue another career path.
