Alice M. Predmore, 56, address at large, was charged with cruelty to animals, abandoning animals and prohibited acts for companion animals related to an incident Sunday, May 26.

Deputies responded about 1:20 p.m. to her address on a report of a trespassing/squatting complaint at 11786 Sunview St., Lakeview. The complainants had just purchased the home and said they tried to get into the home, but their keys to the home did not open the locks. The neighbors told the new home owners that they had observed two women in the home and they believed one of the women was still living there.

Deputies were able to speak with Predmore via phone, and she stated that she had moved out of the home, but that she still needed to get a few remaining items and the animals from the home. She said she stops by to tend to the animals.

Though the home was closed up, deputies reportedly could observe a strong odor of urine and feces emanating from the residence. The new home owners were able to locate an unlocked door at the rear of the home and made entry. They described the home as being “filled with feces” and having a strong odor of urine. Several cats and dogs were located inside the residence as well.

Monday, May 27, deputies also responded to a report of a dog on the loose, assisting Ohio Department of Natural Resources officers. The dog also had previously been at the Sunview Street residence. The dog was malnourished and in poor health and was later euthanized, deputies said.

Predmore admitted to deputies that the dog had gotten away from her that day. She was placed under arrest and transported to the jail.

A report was forwarded to the Logan County dog warden for additional follow up and to facilitate the removal of the remaining dogs and cats.
