A Huntsville man was cited for following too closely Monday evening, Nov. 17, after the sport utility vehicle he was driving reportedly struck the rear of another SUV in the 7500 block of State Route 47 E.
Ke’Shawn Blackwell, 18, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe east on S.R. 47 about 6:05 p.m. when he struck the rear of an eastbound 2019 Infiniti Q60 traveling in front of him that was attempting to turn left into a driveway, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
Blackwell sustained possible minor injuries. He and a 13-year-old male passenger in the Tahoe, who was reportedly not injured, were taken by Bokescreek EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital.
The Infiniti’s driver, Bellefontaine area resident Hayley Palmer, 39, was not injured, according to the crash report.
Blackwell was reportedly distracted by the use of an electronic communication device at the time of the crash.
All vehicle occupants were wearing seat belts.
Damage to the vehicles was disabling and Top’s Towing removed them from the scene.
