When questioned outside the residence, the defendant reportedly taunted officers, assumed a fighting stance and approached them several times in an aggressive manner, ignoring the officers’ commands to calm down and cooperate.

All attempts at defusing the situation failed before Goings returned to the screened-in front porch his house and fired up a glass bowl containing marijuana while continuing to berate officers and ignore their commands.

When told that he was to be placed under arrest, Goings reportedly resisted and police had to wrestle Goings to the ground.

He reportedly suffering minor injuries during the struggle. Goings continued to resist while on the ground and had to be Tasered twice before officers could get him under control and placed handcuffs.

Medics from the Bellefontaine EMS were called to the scene to remove the Taser probes before Goings was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he reportedly again became disruptive and violent and had to be placed in a restraint chair.

Goings was charged with persistent disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and report of the incident was forwarded to the Bellefontaine Municipal Court to consideration of further charges.
