On May 1, 1996, Chuck and Brenda Stevens bought the Tammy Lynn Inn, 103 S. Main St., DeGraff, which over the next three decades became a cornerstone of the business district in the village located in western Logan County.
Exactly 29 years – and one day – after buying the property, the Stevens sold the saloon to Brent Wright and Nichole Six on May 2, 2025, who intend to keep the “Home of the Longneckers” up and running for the foreseeable future.
The Stevens have witnessed pretty much all of the ups and downs of owning a saloon in a small town could offer over their almost three decades of ownership, but Chuck, citing to health problems, said that it was time for them to turn the “Tammy”, as it’s known to the locals and non-locals alike, over to someone who could put in the necessary hours in to bring the Tammy back to its former glory.
Not that Chuck’s health problems are going to mean he and Brenda are completely pumping the brakes.
Chuck, who retired from Honda of America after 33 years of service, and Brenda are avid bikers and have been to Speed Week in Daytona every year since 1989 and have made the trip from DeGraff to the Sturgis rally every year for the last 34 years.
They both plan on making it 35 straight years as they plan to hit the road to South Dakota again later this summer.
Chuck and Brenda can still be seen frequenting the Tammy, but now they are on the other side of the bar as customers, getting in of the euchre games that pop up every Saturday and visiting with many of those they served over the last 29 years.
