FINDLAY — Senior Aidan Stinebaugh capped a record-breaking indoor season Sunday, Feb. 22, with another historic performance, leading the Indian Lake indoor track and field team at the regular-season finale hosted by the University of Findlay.

Stinebaugh set a new school record in the triple jump with a personal-best leap of 42 feet, 2 inches, earning first place and officially qualifying for the indoor state championships. The mark bettered his own record set just two weeks earlier and secured him a spot among the state’s top competitors.

On Feb. 15 at Tiffin University, Stinebaugh had already rewritten the Indian Lake record books by jumping 41 feet, 6½ inches, breaking the school’s previous indoor triple jump record of 40-5 set by Dustin Franks in 2020. Sunday’s effort raised that standard again as he closed the regular season in dominant fashion. Stinebaugh also competed in the long jump at Findlay, finishing 14th with a mark of 18-4.5.

Kade Richardson also delivered a strong showing in the triple jump, placing fourth with a personal-record leap of 38-0. That mark positions Richardson in contention for a berth at the indoor state meet, pending final declarations this week. The top 16 marks statewide will advance to the state championships at the Spire Institute on March 7.

Silas Holbrook turned in a busy and productive day, finishing fifth in the 400 meters (55.45), ninth in the 200 meters (24.17), 20th in the 60 meters (7.53), and 22nd in the long jump. Hayes Henry placed seventh in the high jump (5-2) and 10th in the 60-meter hurdles (10.82).

Wyatt Whitsett added multiple finishes for the Lakers, placing eighth in the triple jump (33-1.75), ninth in the high jump (5-0), 28th in the shot put (37-6), and 39th in the 60 meters (7.99). Cason Lacher finished 27th in the 60 meters (7.65) and 29th in the 1600 meters (5:42).

On the girls side, Laura Metzger finished 10th in the 1600 meters (6:09) and 12th in the 800 meters (2:54), while Haley Metzger placed 13th in the 800 meters (2:57). Adriana Andres competed in two sprint events, finishing 18th in the 400 meters (1:21) and 36th in the 200 meters (33.6).

Several Indian Lake athletes recorded personal records during the meet, including Andres in the 60 meters; Karsyn Newkirk in the 60 meters and 200 meters (32.72); Olivia Albert in the long jump and 200 meters; Kayleigh Taylor in the 1600 meters (6:47) and 800 meters (3:07); Nathan White in the long jump, 200 meters, and 1600 meters (5:37); Evan Wu in the shot put; Dawson Stevenson in the 60 meters; Jordan Vance in the 200 meters (26.57); and Logan Daniels in the 200 meters (28.53).

Additional competitors included Daniels in the 60 meters and 400 meters, Albert in the 400 meters, and Vance in the 400 meters, as Indian Lake wrapped up a solid regular season.
