Officers of the Russells Point Police Department responded about 9:55 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, to a report of domestic violence at a residence on Bristol Circle in the village.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with a visibly distressed female victim who reported being assaulted and strangled by her live-in boyfriend, identified as 61-year-old Roger Duane Spangler.
The victim stated that during a verbal argument, Spangler struck her multiple times and choked her until she briefly lost consciousness. Officers observed visible injuries consistent with her account.
Spangler, who appeared heavily intoxicated, denied the allegations.
The suspect was arrested without incident and charged with strangulation and domestic violence.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
