Ben Logan defeated Bellefontaine 3-2 in CBC play on Monday at AccuSport Stadium.

Daylin Varner had two goals and an assist for the Lady Raiders. Paisley Rodenberger had a goal and an assist.

Rissa Bates made five saves.

For the Lady Chieftains, Callie Shumaker scored twice, and Emma Whitaker had one assist.

Whitaker made 17 saves.

Ben Logan (3-0 CBC, 5-1 overall) is at Allen East on Thursday at 5:30. Bellefontaine (1-2 CBC, 3-5) hosts Pleasant on Wednesday at 7:15.

GIRLS

Calvary Christian 7, Yellow Springs 2

Calvary Christian got a Metro Buckeye Conference road win over Yellow Springs on Saturday.

Eden Lecrone started off the scoring in the second minute of the match, with an assist by Megan Palmer.

Lecrone made it 2-0 shortly thereafter from the top of the 18-foot box.

May Kariuki put the Lady Spartants up 3-0 at the 22 minute mark. Lydia Davie scored with an assist by Palmer three minutes later.

Late in the first half, Blythe Lowe got the fifth goal.

The Bulldogs broke up the shut out with two minutes remaining. Calvary Christian answered with scores by Kariuki and Davie.

Maddison Freeland had two saves in net. Annagail Lambert and Sarah King did well in the midfield, while Reagan Roell, Allie Schmidt and Kacey Andre provided solid defense.

West Liberty-Salem 11, Madison Plains 2

The Lady Tigers collected an Ohio Heritage Conference win over Madison Plains on Monday.

Jenna Cline had four goals, with two each by Arianna Weaver and Skyler Ropp. Also scoring were Emily King, Gwen McCullough and Delaney Anane-Sefah. Assists were by Weaver and Cline.

Kaylee Blair made two saves.

West Liberty-Salem (2-2 OHC, 3-4-1) play at Ben Logan on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

West Liberty-Salem 5, Bellefontaine 2

West Liberty-Salem defeated visiting Bellefontaine on Saturday.

For the Tigers, Arianna Weaver and Skyler Ropp each had two goals and Ellery Wygal had one. Assists came from Weaver and Tori Douthwaite.

Kaylee Blair had five saves.

Callie Shumaker scored both goals for the Lady Chiefs. Emma Whitaker had an assist.

Whitaker made six saves.

Raiders shut out Chieftains

Ben Logan defeated host Bellefontaine 2-0 in a Central Buckeye Conference contest on Monday at AccuSport Stadium.

Landen Simon and Aiden Todd each had one shot hit the back of the net for the Raiders.

Coach Steve Henry of Bellefontaine said, “We played hard. And we were in the whole game. But we just couldn’t get through their defense to put some shots on frame. Ben Logan has a good team. They are physical and skilled. But we held our own. Of course we have to keep improving, but the boys come to practice and games every day ready to get better. That’s all we can ask.”

Ben Logan (3-0 CBC, 6-1 overall) will host Lincolnview on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Bellefontaine (0-3 CBC, 1-6) is off until next Monday when they are at Northwestern at 5:30 p.m.

Yellow Springs 6, Calvary Christian 1

Calvary Christian lost to Yellow Springs on Saturday.

Nehemiah Dillon scored for the Spartans.

In the junior varsity contest, Yellow Springs won 4-1.

Sam Mihoci had the score for Calvary Christian.

West Liberty-Salem 8, Franklin Monroe 1

West Liberty-Salem defeated Franklin Monroe on Saturday in nonleague play.

Scoring for the Tigers were Elijah Christison and Wyatt Longaberger with two each, and one apiece by Lance Campbell, Kamden Yang, Conner Leichty and Caleb Ling.

Recording assists were Josiah Thoman, Ling, Miles Christison, Leichty and Yang.

Tucker Searles had four saves, and Rylan Leichty made three.
