James and Olivia Albert were selected as the poppy king and queen to represent the Harold Kerr Sons of the American Legion and Auxiliary Post 173 in the 2023 Memorial Day Parade in Bellefontaine.
The siblings also have been raising funds for poppy donations to benefit local veterans and their widows who are in need. In addition, the poppy funds support Christmas presents for veterans in local nursing homes.
James, age 5, and Olivia, age 12, are the children of Navy veterans Megan and Michael Albert, and they both attend Indian Lake Schools.
Olivia enjoys art, music, softball, soccer and flags. James likes soccer, T-ball, playing on the trampoline, helping raise goats and playing with his sisters and dogs.
