Riverside upsets Miami East on buzzer beater

Riverside won in dramatic fashion over visiting Miami East, 44-42 in Three Rivers Conference play.

The Vikings hit a shot with less than six seconds to lead 42-41. Landon Purtee then found Gavin Orsborne in the corner. Orsborne sank a shot at the buzzer for the win.

Jaxon Woods had 16 points and six rebounds. Brody Orsborne scored 10 points and had a big steal, while Gavin got eight points and made two assists. Damien Smith had six points, two steals and a block, and Purtee had three points and two assists.

Miami East won the JV game 53-45. Colton Hurley had 15 points and six boards; Syler Clark had 12 points and three rebounds; and Cooper Crouch had six points and two rebounds.

The freshmen squad lost 31-26. Laithen Snyder had 12 points, Aiden Four seven points, nine rebounds and two blocks, and Garrett Purtee three points and two steals.

Riverside (2-10 TRC, 5-14) is off until next Friday, when they travel to Covington.
