The Logan County Common Pleas Court has scheduled a change of plea and sentencing hearing at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, for Kenton E. Quint, who faces charges in the March shooting death of his wife.
Quint, 66, of Bellefontaine, was indicted by a Logan County grand jury on one count of aggravated murder with a three-year firearm specification and one count of murder with a three-year firearm specification.
Prosecutors allege he fatally shot his wife, Wanda K. Quint, 68, during an incident at the couple’s Clagg Street home on March 18.
Officers with the Bellefontaine Police Department responded to the residence around 4:38 p.m. that afternoon after a 911 call was placed reporting a shooting. When they arrived, officers located Wanda Quint unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Bellefontaine Police Chief Chris Marlow.
Detectives secured the home and continued to investigate through the evening. Quint was arrested following the initial inquiry and booked into the Logan County Jail at 6:35 p.m.
The Bellefontaine Fire Department and EMS, along with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, assisted at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing as the case moves toward a potential resolution in court next week.
