Pirates’ McDaniel and Lakers’ Snipes qualify for district golf tourneys

Three area golf teams were part of the field for the Division II Southwest sectional girls golf tournament on Wednesday.
The host course was Stillwater Valley Golf Club in Versailles.
Delaney White of Houston (75) was the medalist, and Riverside’s Reaghan McDaniel had 83 to finish in second place. Both qualified as individuals for the district tournament. Others moving on are Lyla Brewer of Tri-Village (90) and Riley Donnelly (94).
Indian Lake had the best team finish, taking fifth place with a 437, four shots behind Versailles.
Alex Kinney led with a 96, followed by Tayler Klofta (112), Adriana Andrus (114) and Chloe Borgerding (115). Also in action was Lillian Michael (121).
Ben Logan finished 11th with a 482. Bea Warren had 112, Annika Schmidt 117, Leah Braddock 125 and Kaylynn Crumm 128. Catherine Bramlage rounded it out with 133.
Riverside finished in 13th place (491). Besides McDaniel, the scores were Adalynn Calaway (131), Whitney Leatherman (138) and Lei Hurley (139).
Fort Loramie was the team champion at 402, winning a tiebreaker with Fort Recovery. Milton-Union (407) and the Tigers (433) also advance to districts.
The district tournament is set for Oct. 1 at PipeStone Golf Club in Dayton.

BOYS D-II
The boys Division II tournament was held Tuesday at Windy Knoll.
The top four teams, who advance to districts, were Northwestern (302), Versailles (322), Shawnee (324) and Greeneview (338).
Indian Lake finished seventh with a score of 353.
Jaxon Snipes had a 73, which tied the school record for 18 holes, and was one of the four individual qualifiers. He was just two shots behind medalist Nolan Hockett of Northwestern.
Joe Cummins (90), Cooper Hall (92) and Crew McPherson (98) made up the rest of the team score, with Kade Richardson (109) also in action.
West Liberty-Salem was ninth with a 356. The top four scores were Brock Burgel (87) Braydon Thompson (89), Sutton Wilcoxon (89), and Troy Christison (91). Rounding out play was Brady Kauffman (115).
Ben Logan had three golfers in the field. Drake Newland had a 117, Colson Knight 129 and Dane Reffner 146.
The other individual qualifiers were Keidein Pratt of Miami East (78), Luke Stephens of Arcanum (79), and Ryland Davis of Urbana (82).

BOYS D-I
Bellefontaine finished 11th in the Division I tournament at Windy Knoll on Wednesday.
The teams advancing to districts were Bellbrook (289), Sidney (303), Butler (303) and Tippecanoe (308).
Individual qualifiers were Chase Stafford of Tecumseh (71), Mitchell Sargent of Troy (71), Jack Faulkner of Beavercreek (72) and Miller Sin of Springfield (73).
Collen Brugler had the low round of 86 for the Chieftains. He was followed by Noah Smith (90), Kyle Boop (97) and Cody Hudson (108). Rounding out play was Christian Sterling (134).
Brody Miller of Bellbrook was the medalist with a 70.
