U.S. Marine Corps veteran Larry Lattimer of Huntsville serves as the featured speaker of the Bellefontaine Memorial Day ceremony Monday, May 29. He encouraged public and personal displays of patriotism for Memorial Day and throughout the year to remember those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom today. “It’s very important that we are passing along to the next generation what makes America the home of the free and the brave,” said Lattimer, who served in Vietnam from September 1971 to July 1972, and later was honorably discharged from the Marines in 1978. Robert Walker was the emcee for the ceremony, Pastor Jeff Willetts offered an invocation and benediction, and Bellefontaine Mayor Ben Stahler also offered a tribute.
