Christopher Aills, 30 of Chillicothe, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to a traffic top about 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 11.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol on Stephenson Street near State Route 235 and conducted a traffic stop on Aills for a marked lanes and following too close violation.
Upon making contact with the driver, signs of impairment were observed.
The defendant admitted to consuming too much alcohol prior to the traffic stop. Aills was asked to perform field sobriety tests and refused.
He was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail. Once at the jail, he refused to submit to a breath test. He also was cited for marked lanes and was later released to a sober driver.
