Three-time Olympic halfpipe snowboarder Louie Vito is headed back to the Winter Games—this time making history. At the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympics, Vito will represent Italy and become the oldest halfpipe snowboarder ever to compete on the Olympic stage, returning to the Games more than a decade after first competing for the United States.
Vito is the son of Lou and Judy Vito of Bellefontaine.
Now riding under the Italian flag in honor of his family heritage, his return on home snow is already drawing global attention. From redefining longevity in a youth-driven sport to making a rare Olympic nation transition, his story reaches far beyond the competition.
The Winter Games take place from Feb. 6-22. Link: Olympic snowboarding schedule information.
