Whether your tastes run to classical concertos or electric guitar riffs, November at the Holland is sure to please.
First up is the Lima Symphony Orchestra: Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, for a concert at Sunday, Nov. 9, at 3 p.m.
Featuring acclaimed violinist Geneva Lewis, the afternoon will include Nokuthula Ngwenyama’s Primal Message, a composition that reflects humanity’s attempt to communicate with extraterrestrial life; Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, among the best-known and most beloved of all violin concertos; and Mozart’s 40th Symphony, a passion-filled piece of unparalleled beauty.

Rounding out the month is ThunderBeard: A Tribute to ZZ Top, on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m. ThunderBeard authentically recreates the live experience of “That Little Ol’ Band from Texas.” With real beards, fuzzy guitars, and showmanship like the original, this tribute will transport you back to the heyday of rock and roll.
Expect classic hits such as “Sharp Dressed Man”, “La Grange”, “Gimme All Your Lovin’”, and other iconic songs from the legendary band’s 50-plus year history.This event is sponsored by Ravenhurst Champagne Cellars.
Up next will be a full slate of holiday events during December, including It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play on Dec. 6-7; The Drowsy Lads with Irish Christmas tunes on Dec. 13; the West Central Ohio Community Concert Band’s annual free holiday concert on Dec. 16; and Christmas jazz with The Yuletide 5 on Dec. 19.
In addition, the Holland will host several holiday movies in conjunction with local organizations.
