Bellefontaine Fire & EMS and Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a trailer fire in the 3600 block of Logan Road, just outside of the city, with flames and smoke showing, about 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Upon arrival, a working fire was reported with heavy smoke showing from the roof, firefighters of the Bellefontaine Fire Department report.
Mutual aid partners from the Indian Joint Fire District and Logan County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
Crews made an aggressive interior attack/primary search, and removed multiple dogs from the residence. One of the dogs was administered oxygen after being removed from the home.
No other injuries were reported.
The mobile home was considered a total loss. The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the family, and the State Fire Marshal was also contacted, firefighters report.
The residence is owned by Sandy Gehrlich, according to Logan County Auditor’s Office records.
“Thank you to our mutual aid partners for the assistance,” Bellefontaine firefighters said. “While we were on this incident, we had an EMS run and fire alarm handled by off-duty crews and mutual aid departments.”
In addition, Huntsville firefighters extended appreciation to their mutual aid partners as well for handling an EMS run while they were on scene of the fire.
