Meth, assorted paraphernalia recovered

Bulk methamphetamine and assorted drug paraphernalia were recovered Tuesday, Sept. 3, following an investigation by officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department.

Larry Williams, 53, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments and for a parole violation.

The BPD criminal patrol unit received information shortly after 8:30 p.m. that a male was in the area with an extraditable felony arrest warrant out of Indiana. The vehicle was described as a brown Nissan Altima and an Indiana license plate also was provided to officers.

The police K9 unit united located the vehicle occupied and sitting in the parking lot of McDonald’s on north Main Street. Upon making contact, the defendant reportedly lied to officers about his identity. Officers eventually identified him as a the defendant, Williams, and confirmed his warrant.

After being told a narcotics K9 officer was on scene, Williams admitted to police that there was methamphetamine in the vehicle.

Officers located a bulk amount of methamphetamine, a methamphetamine pipe, five loaded syringes, multiple plastic baggies and multiple IDs that did not belong to Williams.

He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
