A Lakeview man was arrested twice in as many days for domestic violence on Monday and again Tuesday, Aug. 5, for aggravated menacing.
Gerald Hines, 64, was released from jail on bond for the domestic charge on the condition he have no contact with the victim, his live-in girlfriend.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to Hine’s Kiowa Path residence about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday on a report Hines had returned to the house and was not allowing the victim, who was moving her belongings out, to leave.
Deputies talked to the victim, who said Hines threatened to kill her. A witness confirmed Hines made the threat.
Hines told deputies he was aware of the no-contact order and when asked why he returned to the home when he saw the victim was there, he said, “this is my house.”
During the physical altercation Monday, Hines grabbed the victim, threw her and she “landed hard” in a fall. She sustained cuts on her arms and feet from the incident.
The suspect was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail, where he was lodged.
Man issued summons after allegedly threatening neighbors
A Huntsville man was issued a summons for disorderly conduct Tuesday night, Aug. 5, after he allegedly threatened to get a gun and shoot his neighbors.
Deputies responded to a Rude Street residence and were informed that an occupant of a neighboring home, Waid Houser Jr., 65, was upset because his neighbors, including a woman and children, were setting off fireworks in their backyard. Houser was yelling and cursing at his neighbors when the gun threat was made.
When deputies approached Houser’s residence, he reportedly gave his dogs a command to “sic” the peace officers.
Deputies report Houser appeared highly intoxicated and had difficulty following their instructions, such as closing the door behind himself, to keep the dogs in the house.
Houser denied making the threats and initially to having guns in the home, but later admitted to having several guns.
Deputies informed the neighbors Houser could not be charged with menacing unless they believed he would follow through with his threat. The adult victims agreed to provide written statements.
The suspect was issued the summons in lieu of arrest on the condition that he stay on his property and not cause any more issues with his neighbors.
