A 31-year-old man was flown to an area hospital Tuesday evening, Aug. 5, after he was involved in an electronic bicycle accident at the Logan County Fairgrounds.
Bellefontaine EMS and a MedFlight helicopter responded to the scene.
The man was reportedly operating an e-bike shortly before 8 p.m. when he attempted to ramp or jump over a mound of dirt while traveling about 20 mph. He then fell off the bike and struck his head on a hard surface, Bellefontaine firefighters report.
The man was breathing but unconscious at the scene, first responders said.
He was transported by MedFlight helicopter to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
The extent of the man’s injuries and an update on his condition were not immediately available.
