Sean Spurlock, 24, of Urbana, was charged with obstructing justice Tuesday when he failed to provide critical information after his girlfriend overdosed on Fentanyl.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department and paramedics with the Bellefontaine Fire & EMS Department were dispatched around 7:25 p.m. to 113 N. Springhill St. on a reported overdose.
Tiffany Foor, 23, also of Urbana, was in his car and unresponsive.
Paramedics told officers a hypodermic needle was found in her bra as the medics worked to revive her.
Mr. Spurlock claimed she went into a friend’s residence and returned to his car before passing out. He claimed he did not know what drug she may have taken.
Ms. Foor was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital unconscious and barely breathing. However, she was revived and able to talk with officers.
She told them Mr. Spurlock knew she was going to acquire and use Fentanyl. She said it was the first time she had injected the drug.
Mr. Spurlock was stopped trying to leave the city, arrested and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Charity N. Huffman, 30, of 198 Linden St., West Liberty, was charged Tuesday with possession of drug abuse instruments.
She was stopped around 3:35 p.m. in the 1200 block of Superior Street after driving past a stop bar and for a broken brake light.
Officers believed she was a heroin user. When asked, she admitted to possessing hypodermic needles, four of which were found inside the car inside a makeup bag.
She was issued warnings for the traffic violations and served a summons for the drug charge.
