Loose dogs kill, injure other canines in Washington Township

A criminal summons is pending against the owner of two dogs that reportedly killed one dog and injured another while running loose Saturday, Feb. 17.

Officers of the Washington Township Police report the canines were loose in the area of State Route 366 and Township Road 269 near the Rootbeer Stand, and police were actively searching for the dog’s owner. Officers eventually made contact with dogs owners and the canines were returned home around 10 p.m.
Shortly thereafter, police were made aware of one dog killed by the loose dogs and then on Sunday, Feb. 18, notified that another dog was injured by the loose dogs. As a result, the owner of the dogs received a criminal summons to appear in court.
“If you or your animals were injured by the two loose dogs, please call us at 937-686-8024 to file a report,” Washington Township police said.
