Logan County has 126 offices up for grabs in November election

Petition filing deadline for candidates is Wednesday, Aug. 6

This November’s election will have 126 elective offices on the ballot throughout Logan County.

The petition filing deadline for the Nov. 4 General Election is 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6.

The deadline for write-in candidates is 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25.

The following positions are subject to that deadline:

Village of Belle Center Member of Council – 4 seats up for election

Village of DeGraff Member of Council – 4 seats up for election

Village of Huntsville Member of Council – 4 seats up for election

Village of Lakeview Member of Council – 4 seats up for election

Village of Quincy Member of Council – 4 seats up for election

Village of Ridgeway Member of Council – 4 seats up for election (must file petitions at the Hardin County Board of Elections)

Village of Rushsylvania Member of Council – 4 seats up for election

Village of Rushsylvania Board of Trustees of Public Affairs – 1 seat up for election

Village of Russells Point Mayor (unexpired term)

Village of Russells Point Member of Council – 4 seats up for election

Village of Russells Point Board of Trustees of Public Affairs – 1 seat up for election

All candidates can pick up petitions for our office during normal office hours, or they can print them from the Secretary of State’s website.

The signature requirements for Midwest Regional ESC is 50 valid signatures of voters residing within the sub-district the candidate is attempting to represent.

The signature requirements for Township Office & School Board is 25 valid signatures of voters residing within the township, or school district, the candidate is attempting to represent.

The signature requirements for Village Office is 10 valid signatures of voters residing within the village the candidate is attempting to represent.

All offices have the same maximum signature limit of three times the minimum, so ESC candidates can submit up to 150; township & school board candidates can submit up to 75; village candidates can submit up to 30.

The filing fee that is required when turning in petitions for any of these positions is $30 and must be paid either in cash or by check.

All candidates for all listed Village (except Ridgeway) & Township positions, and for Midwest ESC positions, Bellefontaine Schools, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, Riverside, & West Liberty-Salem must file their petitions at the Logan County Board of Elections, 225 S. Main St., Bellefontaine.

Candidates running for Jackson Center or Sidney School Board must file at the Shelby County Board of Elections, 230 E. Court St., Sidney.

Candidates for Ridgeway Village Office, Ridgemont or Upper Scioto Valley School Boards must file at the Hardin County Board of Elections, in the 1st floor of the Courthouse, 1 Court House Sq., Ste. 40, Kenton.

Candidates for Triad School Board must file at the Champaign County Board of Elections, 1512 U.S. 68 S, Ste. L-100, Urbana.

Finally, candidates for Waynesfield-Goshen School Board must file at the Auglaize County Board of Elections, 209 S. Blackhoof St., Ste. 205, Wapakoneta.
